Presentations will be done in class the week of March 9-13.
Order of presentation will be by random draw--so be ready to go the first block of the week!
Our second PowerPoint project is a kiosk-style or user-paced project (choose one).
Both options are outlined in the project assignment below. Both marking rubrics are given.
----Kiosk-style PowerPoints require you to use timings. These shows are like the "announcements" display in the front foyer (which is actually done using a presentation software available online called Prezi). Yours must be a PowerPoint presentation, though. Remember to keep it professional-looking.
----User-paced PowerPoints are ones where the person viewing the PowerPoint clicks the buttons to advance the information. In order to make this as challenging as the kiosk-style, you must use hyperlinks to connect one slide to another, or to outside information. I recommend the "virtual museum" or "virtual bookshelf" options as an easy way to get started on this style of presentation.
For either option, you may choose the topic. If you have a project for another class which requires a slideshow-type of presentation, you have my permission to "double-dip" by handing that assignment in for my class as well--be sure you also have your other teacher's permission, though!!
Note that for BOTH options, SOUND must be embedded in your show. You could do a soundtrack, sound effects, a narration, or....??
Please note that there are specific directions in the "handout" above, including the rubrics. Be sure that you read the requirements AND the rubrics carefully, as if you do not include a required element, your grade will be recorded as INC (incomplete; value: 0) until you redo the assignment.
The marking rubric is included in this PowerPoint.
